Popular American composer Jennifer Higdon will compose a concerto for eighth blackbird and orchestra, to premiere in the 2009/10 season. Although we can officially announce this exciting news, it is not possible to mention publicly which orchestra will present the world premiere performance (and is in fact commissioning the whole shebang).
